Get set

A save like the one against Pelé starts with quick, balanced feet that put you in line with the ball, and GK Footwork trains exactly that.

The coach’s tip

As the shot is struck, be on the balls of your feet with your knees soft, so you can push off either way.

Train it: GK Footwork: Shuffle and Set

Side-step across a goal-width line of cones, stop in a set position, and catch a dropped ball cleanly before shuffling on.

10 minutes, 1 to 2 players; 1 soccer ball, 4 cones or markers.
