Homeschool PE in California
California offers multiple homeschool paths. While PE isn't mandated, proper documentation opens doors to sports eligibility and transcripts.

California Homeschool Options
California offers four paths to legal homeschooling:
- File a Private School Affidavit (PSA) — operate as your own private school
- Enroll in a Private School Satellite Program (PSP) — file under an umbrella school
- Use a credentialed private tutor
- Enroll in an independent study program through a public school/charter
Under the PSA path (most common), you have complete curriculum freedom. No specific subjects are mandated beyond the general private school requirement to offer instruction in "branches of study required to be taught in the public schools."
